Confidentiality Agreement

Your privacy is important to me. I treat all documents and correspondence as confidential information. I understand that documents and manuscripts you send may contain proprietary business or scientific information, intellectual property, or personal information. Never, under any circumstances, will material submitted to Direct Scientific Editing be disclosed, reprinted, sold, or redistributed in any way. The copyright for all documents written, rewritten, edited, proofread, or otherwise worked on by Direct Scientific Editing will remain with the client. Direct Scientific Editing makes every possible effort to maintain client confidentiality. Direct Scientific Editing uses antivirus and firewall protection security measures for the transmission of data. All data is processed and stored on my local operating system and secure password protected online platforms. The data collected is stored in a secure server with my ISP which takes periodic backups but will not give or sell them to anyone. However, due to the vulnerability of the Internet, Direct Scientific Editing cannot guarantee confidentiality of documents delivered via email. Any contact information submitted to Direct Scientific Editing will not be disclosed, reprinted, sold, or used for any purpose other than professional correspondence between Direct Scientific Editing and the client. Any payment information provided by the client will remain confidential and completely inaccessible to any parties outside of Direct Scientific Editing. Applicable Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. Direct Scientific Editing reserves the right to make changes to its site and these disclaimers, terms and conditions at any time. Additional Terms

Direct Scientific Editing  returns documents in fully edited form with Tracked Changes on. However, all changes and revisions made when editing or rewriting your documents are suggestions only. It’s the client’s sole responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of all advice and services provided.

The client is responsible for supplying Direct Scientific Editing with a current and accurate name, billing address, and email address, and has an ongoing obligation to keep this information current.

The client is responsible for supplying appropriate payment in Euro for all services performed by Direct Scientific Editing, and paid within 7 business dates from acceptance of the quote.

All estimated turnaround times begin when Direct Scientific Editing receives the client’s acceptance of the quote and “terms and conditions”. Estimated turnaround times refer to a single editing assignment. Additions of materials, rewrites, or any activity which alters the specific agreement will be considered to be outside the scope of the editing assignment.

Direct Scientific Editing does not include fact checking, therefore the veracity of all factual claims are the responsibility of the client.

Direct Scientific Editing reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.

You acknowledge and agree that these Terms and Conditions constitute the complete and exclusive agreement between us concerning your use of the https://directscientificediting.com website, and supersede and govern all prior proposals, agreements, or other communications.
