How it works
The process step-wise
All editing is done in Microsoft Word (for Windows or Macintosh). Documents must be submitted with the following formats: Microscoft Word .doc or .docx files. Figures, table and graphics should either be embedded in the Word files or submitted as separate attachments. The track changes feature will be used to show all revisions made. This function allows you to see all insertions or deletions within the text, review and accept changes.
01. Obtain a quote
Request a no-obligation quote by email using the contact form or by writing directly to: isidora@directscientificediting.com
Send your word count (exclude the references) and document type eg. manuscript. You will receive a price estimate and turnaround time. Check your spam folder if you do not see my reply email.
02. Submit your manuscript or other document
Send your document as an attachment by email. It is recommended that files be sent using a secure hosting service such as Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive. Include any reviewer’s comments and cover letters (where applicable) with your submission. You will also need to provide the following:
- Contact information: Name, Affiliation, Email address, Billing address
- Field of study
- Name of the target journal for submission or resubmission
- Spelling preference (American or British English)
I will check your word count and confirm your price estimate. I will begin editing your document upon acceptance of the quote and the terms and conditions.
03. Make your payment
Payment must be made by direct bank transfer (preferred method) or PayPal. Details will be provided with the quote. Invoices will be issued with the billing details you provide. Payment must be settled within seven days of receiving the invoice.
04. Your manuscript is edited and returned to you
You’ll receive an error-free manuscript and cover letter. Your edited manuscript will contain the tracked changes function so you can review and accept the revisions at your discretion.
I am committed to providing ongoing support for manuscript submissions and am available to discuss your editing needs via Skype (by appointment). Should you require additional support following the return of your document, please do not hesitate to contact me.
